A different aspect of what romantic relationships are about, especially after the age of 40. It's a more negative view, derived from negative feelings about how a man realises his part in it: the bread breaker, the father, but not the lover any more. Being in love is being free, and this song is about the restraints of a married life with children, where most of the times it's the female nature that takes the lead - to life itself.

Lyrics

A strange day
What to expect?
You lay your body next to mine
You squeeze my heart,
you steal my blood
You're the mother to our kids
And I am just the owner
of this wretched heart

How is that you
have come to love me?
How come you got into my life?
I'm speaking words
but you don't care if they have meaning
As long as I am the father to your kids.

Possession is the name of the game
Predominance is real
Existence is the excuse that we need
to amplify our vanity

I remember love was pure
I remember we made dreams
Till one day they fell apart,
vanished in a purple breeze
Now it's only just a game
Exchange of power to conceal
All those wicked inner fears
All those feelings from within

Possession is the name of the game
Predominance is real
Existence is the excuse that we need
to amplify our vanity
