From the recording Freaks Of Nature
Yet another song written about a relationship gone sour. But if we look closely on one of the flash-back stories, we may find some scattered similarities around an unfortunate affair between our officer heroine and an unlucky officer man, during their youth.
This I discovered long after I finalised the song. Weird isn't it?
Lyrics
Now you can say I lied
but never lied to you
You can say I'm blind
but I've always watched for you
The reasons that I hide from you
were the reasons I had found you
You know you're not the only one
to be lost without this feeling
And I may not be here tomorrow
And you may fly away forever
And you may think I've done something wrong
And you may think I've found a world I fit better in
And you may feel so angry and so low
But never say I've been
a wasted memory...
You may guess I tried
but never tried enough for you
You may ask- you may ask me why, why, why
I didn't try to hold you
Those nights we seemed to waste
tenderness over anger
So what about our love?
Well- it doesn't matter much.
But you will think about it later
when you'll sleep naked with a stranger
And never hear those words you'll always long for
Only a cold smile, a fake touch-
You'll cry because we've had it all.
So never say I've been
a wasted memory.
